बता दें कि आत्मसमर्पित माओवादियों में 51 माओवादियों ने हथियार के साथ सरेंडर किया व 11 माओवादियों ने बिना हथियार के आत्मसमर्पण किया है। जिनमें से 5 नक्सली सदस्यों पर न्यायालय द्वारा स्थायी वारंट जारी किया गया है। इसे नारायणपुर पुलिस को मिली बड़ी कामयाबी भी कहा जा सकता है। 62 की संख्या में माओवादियों द्वारा हथियार सहित एक साथ आत्मसमर्पण करना एक बड़े बदलाव को प्रदर्शित करता है। आत्मसमर्पित नक्सलियों ने समर्पण के दौरान पुलिस को अपनी विडम्बना सुनाते हुए कहा कि वे सभी नक्सली सदस्य ‘अपने जीवन का अनमोल समय खो चुके हैं। अब बिना किसी हिंसा के वे मुख्यधारा से जुड़कर आम जीवन व्यतीत करना चाहते हैं।’
